What are the
minimum technical requirements to use MyNebraska? How can it

What are the minimum
technical requirements to use MyNebraska? Windows OS: Netscape 7.0 or Internet Explorer 6.0 or
higher browsers. The browser must support 128 bit
Encryption. Mac OSX: Firefox. Other browsers may work, but they are not
recommended. MyNebraska requires a minimum
screen resolution of 800 x 600. Need help in
upgrading your browser? Note: You will need
administrative rights to your computer in order to install the upgrade. If
you are using a State-owned computer, check with your PC support person to
make this determination.
How can I get rid of the message
asking if mixed content is OK? In Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, go to TOOLS
- Click
on Internet Options
- Click
on the Security tab
- Click
on Custom Level
- About
a 1/3 of the way down, under miscellaneous, you will see ‘Display Mixed
Content’, select ENABLE
- Click
OK
- Click
OK once again
Why is MyNebraska Secure? MyNebraska uses secure technologies such as SSL
(Secure Sockets Layer) to keep all your information private. MyNebraska also uses 128 bit encryption and strong
encryption algorithms such as SHA and Triple DES. MyNebraska uses LDAP to access its directory.
How do I register for an account with
MyNebraska? Users are required to
have a unique user ID to login into the MyNebraska Portal. If you are a State employee, an
account has already been created for you. Please contact Human Resources
or your Help Desk. If you are a citizen that needs access to applications
please call the Office of the CIO Help Desk at (800) 982-2468 or (402)
471-4636 or you can send an email to CIO.Help@Nebraska.gov The following information is
required for an account: First and Last Name, a valid email address, and
which application(s) you are registering for. You will be notified via the
email address provided, your new account information and instructions to
log into the MyNebraska Portal.

How often do I have to change my
password? You will be prompted to change your password after
180 days. If you do not change your password when prompted, your
account will be locked.
How long will my account be active,
if I haven't used MyNebraska for a long
time? If you do not log in for 60 days your account is
automatically locked out, and you will have to contact your
organization's administrator to allow access.
What are the
password requirements? Must be at least 8 characters
long. Must be no more than 16 characters long. Must include at least
1 numbers. The first character can not be numeric. The first
character can not be a symbol (non letter or number). Must not repeat
any character sequentially more than 2 times. Must have at least 1
lowercase letters. Must have at least 1 uppercase letters. Must not
include any of the following values:
"password", "huskers", "admin". Must not include a common word
or commonly used sequence of characters.

What do I do if I cannot remember by
password? If you previously supplied the 3 answers on the
‘Password Hints’ screen, you can click ‘Forgot Password’ to retrieve the
hints and if you enter the exact same (case sensitive) answers, you
will be prompted to create a new password. Failing that, contact the Help
Desk designated for your organization.
What do I do if I mistyped my
password? You have three attempts to enter your
password. After the third attempt you will have to: Contact your organization's administrator to have
it reset.
Can I change my MyNebraska UserID? No, MyNebraska UserIDs are
generated automatically.
Sometimes I have to log in again
while working on my application, Why? Your session will time
out after a period of inactivity in your application. You will be
redirected to the login page, and a successful login may redirect you to
the same point in your application.
Can I use MyNebraska to Secure my organization's web
